There will be snacks, desserts, beverages and a live panel discussion with Director Brian Malone, Chuck Plunkett, Director of the University of Colorado News Corp and former Denver Post Editor, and moderator Larry Ryckman, Colorado Sun Editor. "News Matters" follows the attempt by Colorado journalists to save the 125-year-old Denver Post from hedge-fund owner Alden Global Capital, while trying to cut through social media and opinion news outlets. The film is directed by Brian Malone and features Colorado journalists including Chuck Plunkett, who leads a revolt against the Denver Post's hedge fund owners. "News Matters" reflects on the chaos in America as a large segment of the population is threatened by misinformation during a time when the need for quality journal is at an all-time high.
