Apex Pickleball Tournament set for Memorial Day Weekend

Kick off summer with pickleball fun…and it’s all for a good cause! Mark your calendars for Saturday and Sunday, May 26 and 27, and spend part of your Memorial Day weekend playing on the Simms Street Recreation Center outdoor pickleball courts. Tournament proceeds go to the Apex PRD Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that raises funds to help Apex Park and Recreation District deliver quality community recreation to everyone.

Here’s the format: It’s for ages 18+, and teams compete in “pool play” games with awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Men’s and women’s doubles play Saturday, May 26, and mixed doubles play Sunday, May 27. Games begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Simms Street Recreation Center courts, 11706 W. 82nd Avenue, Arvada CO.

The fee is $80/team and registration is in progress.

Besides the tournament itself, this event will feature lots of fun amenities: food trucks, a chance to socialize with the area’s active pickleball community, and more.
