Sale Tax Increase Informational Meeting and Q&A Session

The City of Arvada is considering a sales tax increase as outlined below to support road improvements throughout Arvada. The Arvada Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors invites our members to join us for an informational meeting, question/answer session and an opportunity to share your valuable perspective on this conversation.
 

Problem: Roads

Many of Arvada's streets and roads are rated poor. Traffic is getting more congested. These issues impact quality of life and safety. The longer we wait to improve our roads, the more expensive repairs will be.

Solution: Funding

A 1/2 cent increase in sales and use tax (5¢ on a $10 purchase) - for street improvements only - would help maintain and improve our roads. Every $1 invested now could save $8-10 in the future.

Who Decides: You

If City Council approves adding the ballot measure to the November 2016 ballot - registered Arvada voters will vote on the street improvement tax.
